Koe is a personal voice-journaling app designed to help you capture and revisit your own reflections. It is not a medical, mental health, therapeutic, safety, or emergency service.
Koe does not provide medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It must not be used for urgent needs, crisis support, or emergency communication. If you need medical or mental-health assistance, contact qualified professionals or emergency services.
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not promise that any feature, prompt, transcription, encryption, or storage workflow will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, nor do we guarantee that recordings or other data will be preserved.
You are solely responsible for how you use the app, including complying with local laws, obtaining any required consent before recording others, and maintaining the security of your device (for example, using a device lock or biometrics).
Your use of the app is a personal, limited, revocable permission to install and use it on your device. We do not provide ongoing service obligations. Uninstalling the app ends your permission to use it, but stored data can be affected differently by platform. On Android, encrypted recordings or backup files may be stored in shared device storage and may remain after uninstall until deleted through device storage tools. On iOS, deleting the app normally removes Koe data stored inside the app container, while Offload App and device or iCloud backups may preserve or restore data depending on your settings. If Koe later offers an explicit encrypted export or backup location, files saved there remain in the location you choose until you delete them.
Koe offers an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks premium features. Payment is charged to the app store account you use to purchase (for example, your Apple Account or Google account) at the price shown in the store's purchase sheet before you confirm. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your app store subscription settings (on iOS: Settings > your name > Subscriptions); uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription. Previous purchases can be restored through the same store account. Billing, receipts, and any refunds are handled entirely by the app store under its own terms; we do not receive or store your payment details.
Your recordings are stored locally on your device and encrypted using platform security and app encryption features, such as Android Keystore on Android and Keychain-based protection on iOS. We do not operate cloud servers for your content. Your device manufacturer, operating system, backup services, or user-selected export locations may copy or preserve data outside the app; that is outside our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Koe app, its contributors, and maintainers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from or related to your use or inability to use the app.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Koe app, its contributors, and maintainers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your use of the app, your violation of these terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights.
You must not misuse the app, including interfering with its operation, attempting to access it by automated means, reverse engineering, copying, or scraping content. Do not use the app in violation of export, sanctions, or other applicable laws.
We may update these terms, modify or discontinue the app, and revoke or limit access to any feature at any time, with or without notice. Updates may be posted in-app or through app store releases; using the updated app means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, discontinue use and uninstall the app.
Software updates or device changes may alter how features work, remove functionality, or affect stored data. Back up any information you wish to keep (subject to your own backup choices) before updating devices or the app.
Disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnities, and ownership terms remain in effect even after you stop using or uninstall the app.
